Polyvinylacetate adhesives
PVAc based adhesives give a flexible glue line with limited water resistance.
Polyvinylacetate (PVAc) dispersions give a thermoplastic glueline. Curing is a physical process where the dispersion particles melt together when the water evaporates. Water resistance is limited, but may be improved by adding cross-linkers.
PVAc adhesives are mostly used for interior wood applications. The systems are often fast setting with high initial bond strength. They are classified according to durability classes D1-D4; EN-204/205.
